Contour Hotel Katherine

Absolutely lovely place and very convenient to stay while In Katherine, breakfast was amazing with so much variety, the ambiance is amazing too and a lovely pool! We were there over the wet season and it was really nice as there were not so many people at the hotel! The towels need an upgrade though! too old 🙊🥲…..it was a good thing I always pack my own!

I stayed at the contour for work and I am thankful that I was there, the room was comfortable and very clean, cold aircon and warm shower. The bed was one of the best beds I’ve ever slept in. The tv worked and the fridge was cold and I found the lighting very comfortable. The on site restaurant was amazing. Enough said. I was left that satisfied after my meals that I plan to call in for a meal whenever I pass through Katherine. There is a great looking pool although I didn’t swim. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave nothing but smiles! The gates were locked at night so my car was safe and parked in front of my room, I didn’t have any trouble. I hope to stay at the contour again, thumbs up!

We decided to book in and get a powered camping site. Beautiful grounds. Soil that well cared for you didn't need a mallet to get the stakes in the ground. Secure, fenced in. Tent up, clean and well cared for toilet and shower blocks, absolutely gorgeous grounds. It's a bit more expensive than you might anticipate but it's worth it in our opinion. The one thing that was not so great was that the road noise starting very early in the morning was phenomenally loud. Apart from that great stay overnight. Left for darwin the next morning clean and refreshed. We would definitely go there again. ADDENDUM - we did stay again. This time got a good deal on a unit. Really comfy bed, good nights sleep. Went to the restaurant on site - not too bad. A really comfortable night.

Had cockroaches in my bathroom. Toilet is stained. Very outdated bathroom! Bed sheets stained. Some staff were great. Other staff were incompetent and lazy. This quality is considered the best in Katherine. No shops close by and very small (tiny) selection of overpriced snacks . Restaurant closed most of the day - not even open for lunch.

What makes this place is the staff and the restaurant. Seriously one of the best meals we've had in NT backed up by amazing staff and well organised. What nearly cost a star was the room. Really noisy old AC and a terrible bathroom in desperate need of a renovation. However the bed was excellent and it looked like a start on renewing the room has started Please replace that AC in 68!

Stayed here for a few days and was pleasantly surprised with the size and cleanliness of our room; also the quality of the bed linen and towelling. Despite running parallel with the main highway - the place is very quiet, surrounded by a 2m fence with locked gate (guests are given gate code for late arrivals/early departures); so we felt safe and had two good nights sleep even though the hotel was full. The tall, shade-giving trees and attractive gardens surrounded by lawns give the place a really nice 'tropical' feel... more like a resort than a 3 and a half star hotel. We ate in the restaurant both nights - sampling some items that surprised with the quality and authenticity resplendent of real Italian food - so much better than most places in the big cities! Staff were discreet but friendly and helpful. A lovely place which we would be happy to stay at again and recommend to our friends. Better than expected... so gets 5 stars from us.
